  Emigrated to Canada in 1927 aged 16 (information from daughter Elizabeth). BIOGRAPHY: Worked on a farm in Eastern Ontario (Ottawa area) then went north into the mines of Northern Ontario. At the outbreak of WW2 he enlisted in the RCAF. In 1947 the family moved from Toronto to Brighton Ontario (approx. 100 miles east), where they lived on 10 acres of land up until the mid 1990s. In mid 1990 the family property was sold and they moved to a smaller house in Brighton, Canada. [2]
