Godfrey James Olivier, age 77, a native and resident of Houma, died at 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2005.
Visitation will be to funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home; Liturgy of the Word Monday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 1.
Mr. Olivier is survived by three sisters, Ethel Bahm and husband, Dallas, of Augusta, Ga., Wanda Gros and husband, Eugene, of Houma and Sally Mazur and husband, James, of Las Vegas; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Joseph Olivier and Esther Beadle Olivier; and one brother, Charles David Olivier.
Mr. Olivier was a retired accountant ,and a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict; a member of the Terrebonne Genealogy Society and a member of Bicentennial Planning Committee; a member of the Terrebonne Art League, and director at large of Louisiana Watercolor Society; a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and a lifelong communicant of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
