Owen Roblin (Jacob3, Owen2,Owen1) son of Jacob Roblin and Sarah Vandusen was born Aug. 17, 1835 in Sophiasburg. Owen married 1) Martha Halstead, daughter of Damuel Halstead and Nancy Reed and 2) Sophia Ann Allison , daughter of John Allison and Annie Sprung.
Owen and Martha, who was born about 1839, were married November 3, 1859 in Hastings County. They lived in Sophiasburg and had four children.
Martha died between 1866 and 1874
Owen and Sophia Ann, who was born April 4, 1833 were married after 1872. They had one child of their own Sarah Emma Roblin. Owen also raised three children from Sophia's first marriage to Samuel J. Parks, Minnie, William and Wellington, who are listd in the 1881 Census as "Roblin"s".

Thomas Carter White moved his family from Otterton to Hemyock a distan ce of some 25 miles in 1909.
My Grandfather Thomas Arthur Ham White (Thomas Carter White's eldest so n) told me the story of the move when i was a child.
He told me that he (aged 10) and his father walked the farm animals from t heir old home, Houstern Farm Otterton to their new home, Culmpyne Bart on at Hemyock.
His mother and younger sister Marjorie both drove horses and carts with th eir furniture, clothes and the younger children on the back. He said "we l eft at first light and didn't get there until it was nearly dark. I can re member that my legs were aching and i was so tired. You kiddies couldn't w alk that far now, you complain when you have to walk half a mile to scho ol !!".

General Notes: Child - Thomas Arthur Ham WHITE
Thomas Arthur Ham White was born Dec 29th 1899 at Houstern Farm Otterto n, the eldest of 7 children.
He was the son of Thomas Carter White and Henrietta Martha Ham.
When he was born he was so weak that he was "not expected to survive the n ight".
The vicar was quickly summoned to the house and he was hastily baptis ed in the victorian wash basin.
Thomas survived and was "officially" baptised at Otterton church a few mon ths later.
It was a family joke that has passed down through the generations that " he had two christenings in stead of one".
Having a weak start to his life he actually lived to of 82. He died Apr 12 th 1982, not bad for a sickly baby!!.
